Idaho Grain
Inspection
Your Trusted Grading Services Since 1970
IGIS (Idaho Grain Inspection) is a privately owned but federally regulated official service provider for the USDA. As such, we maintain consistent testing, licensing, and reporting requirements through the Federal Grain Inspection. We provide the states only official testing facilities and strive to provide protection for growers, elevators, and brokers alike.
BARLEY
Idaho offers prime irrigated farmland that significantly contributes to producing more than 30% of the nation's barley. While a substantial portion of our barley supply ( over 70%) is directed to malt facilities, there is also a substantial market for animal feed and specialty food products.
WHEAT
Idaho boasts expansive agricultural land encompassing diverse climates and landscapes, enabling the cultivation of five out of the six wheat varieties within our state. Due to the presence of numerous flour mills in our region, a significant portion of this grain remains within the local economy while also accessing international export markets.
SPECIALTY GRAINS & OIL SEEDS
Oilseeds have emerged as one of Idaho’s fastest-growing crops in recent years. Coupled with evolving market preferences towards health-conscious foods and advancements in agriculture, we have sampled and/or graded over 20 seed grains cultivated and processed locally in Idaho.
